23 June 04 - 15:13Berroco

I came back to the shop today to find all sorts of goodies (as well as the biggest pile of mail I've ever seen).  We received our first order from Berroco, full of lots of fun yarns and some new patterns.  Berroco has some really unusual novelties as well as some good quality garment yarns.

Crystal FX is a shimmery eyelash yarn, great for mixing into scarves.

Plume FX is a feathery eyelash, and this particular color is a great black with gold binder thread and iridescent jeweltone threads.

Glitz is a metallic fur yarn, we have it in an earthy jewel-tone mix, a metallic gold/silver mix, and a blue mix.

Tassel FX is different from our ususal "plume" type eyelash yarns; it has a black thread strung with little metallic tassels every few inches and will add drama to any scarf project.  We have Tassel FX in silver, gold, and copper.

We also have Chinchilla, Denim Silk, and Zen colors ribbon from Berroco.  Denim Silk and Zen would both make very attractive summer garments.

See you at Stitch & Bitch tomorrow!

22 June 04 - 18:27I'm back...

I’m back from my travels in one piece (albeit a slightly sun burnt piece) and hope to see everyone at our much-awaited June Stitch & Bitch this Thursday, June 24th, from 6-8:30 pm.  Bring your current project and join us for snacks, stitching and conversation.  I also have the scoop on fall fashions from the TNNA show!   I’ll be back in the shop tomorrow for anyone who needs to call or visit.  See you all on Thursday!

09 June 04 - 22:43And away I go...

Hey all-

I'm leaving tomorrow to go to the TNNA convention in Columbus, OH, to check out new yarns and other products for the shop.  I'll also get some ideas about what's next in knitting trends for the fall season.  After that I'm heading to the East Coast to visit friends and family.  DeAnn will be running the shop while I'm away, so call her if you have any questions; I won't have e-mail access while I'm away.  I hope to find all sorts of new goodies and have a bit of a tan when I get back!

See you all later this month!

04 June 04 - 22:58Oops! And Yay! AKA: Good news and bad news.

Hey everyone,

We just found out our guest book hasn't been working for some time now (aaargh.).  It's back on track now, so please feel free to sign up if you'd like to be on our mailing list, or just want to leave us some feedback.  Sorry 'bout that!

The good news is that our newsletter has been sent out; if you're on the mailing list you should have received it by e-mail or snail mail (snail mailers may still receive their copies over the weekend).  If you're not on the list, click the link on the left sidebar to read the current newsletter!

DeAnn and I are thrilled because over the last couple of days we undertook a major reorganization of the back room; which was turning into a cardboard jungle.  I can find every yarn without digging now!  Ya-hoo!  Rubbermaid bins are my new best friends.

I've started my next Nature Cotton cabled tank, this time in fabulous summer-citrus orange.  This is enjoyable comfort knitting for me, and the color just makes my mouth water.  I'll post progress pics tomorrow.  Now I'm off to get some knitting time in tonight!

01 June 04 - 15:34Rebecca/June sale items

More new yarns and patterns arrived this morning!  From Muench/GGH we received Ann Norling patterns, Monkeysuits patterns, and Rebecca magazine.

Here are two cute-as-can-be Monkeysuits patterns:

I want a pink bobble cardigan in grown-up sizes!  Aren't they adorable?  The blue cabled sweater is written from 6 months through a women's medium, for mommy & baby matching.   I have several others from this company, come in and check 'em out!

And the fabulous new edition of Rebecca Magazine:

Rebecca is a German import with young, hip patterns.  Some are a little out there, but most are cute, up-to-the-minute styles that are very wearable.

Here's a great pullover knit up in one of our new ribbons, Jolina.  It's got a great diamond eyelet pattern, and extra-long sleeves.

Here are two more patterns from Rebecca, an eyelet and traveling rib cardi (oh yes, it will be mine!) and an intricate-looking cabled pullover.  Wow!

We're having our very first summer sale!  Through the month of June, the following items are on sale, for 20-30% off their original prices:

Jo Sharp Desert Garden Aran, worsted/aran weight cotton microfiber blend, orig. $6.50, now $4.55, 30% off!

Great for cabled patterns, this medium-weight cotton has added nylon microfiber for better wear and breathability!

Jo Sharp Summer Pattern books are on sale for 20% off their original price of $16.00, now $12.80.

These books feature patterns for Desert Garden Aran and DK Cotton, and would be suitable for a variety of interchangable yarns in these weights.

Regia Crazy Cotton, fingering weight mercerized cotton, orig. $6.50, now $5.20, 20% off!

Fine cotton that self-stripes, making it great for bags, tank tops, or childrens wear!

Cascade Rainbow, roving-type worsted weight cotton, orig. $5.00, now $4.00, 20% off!

Soft medium-weight cotton with excellent drape, try it for a looser-fit tank or tee.

All purchases are final on these sale items, no returns or exchanges.  No additional discounts or coupons on these items.  Sale price is limited to stock on hand , no special orders or rain checks.  We will ship, call for current available stock.

To be continued tomorrow with our new yarns & patterns from Aurora!
