25 August 04 - 13:35Cherry Tree Hill Rocks!

I just received our first shipment from Cherry Tree Hill Yarns, and amazing handpaint company!  They have gorgeous colorways ranging from brights to earthtones, and their yarns are phenomenal!  Here's some pics of our new stock:

First, the beauty of this much handpaint in one spot:

Here's Baby Loop Mohair, a sportweight yarn.  One 1,075 yard skein will make several scarves, a lap throw, or a large shawl.  Baby Loop comes in six potluck colorways (see Potluck, listed below), no two skeins are alike!

Next, Oceania, a merino boucle with a fine strand of iridescent glitter throughout.  One 1,440 yd skein will make a average sized women's sweater or a luxurious shawl or poncho.  Wow!

And don't forget your feet!  Supersock merino is a machine washable sock yarn, but it is also excellent for gloves, hats, or lace scarves.  Supersock is put up in 4 oz., 370 yd skeins.  Supersock's contruction is identical to Koigu Premium Merino, and can be substituted for it in patterns.  Colorways range from eye-popping bright to subdued pastels, and everything inbetween.

Also new, but not shown, are Glitter Alpaca, a laceweight alpaca with a fine strand of glitter, wonderful for scarves.  I have patterns for several types of scarves.

We also have Merino Lace, a buttery soft merino that comes in gigantic 2400 yard skeins, enough for many shawl patterns or a slew of gift scarves!

Exclusive to Cherry Tree Hill are their Potluck Yarns, available in worsted or bulky weight, each yarn pack includes 1and 1/2 pounds of random and beautiful handpainted wool.  Each pack is enough for a medium sweater, a shawl, or a large felted tote!  Colorways include Earth, Water, Brights, Blue/Green, Blue/Purple, and Jewel.  Each colorway fits into one of these 6 potluck color families, but no two potluck bundles are alike!

What amazing goodies!

13 August 04 - 09:17Long time no post!

Hi everyone!  Sorry the posts haven't been as frequent; our internet is down at the shop.  But I wanted to tell you about some new shipments of Euro Yarns (Schachenmayr, Linie/Online, Jo Sharp) and some new Debbie Bliss.

First up, Debbie Bliss Baby Alpaca/Silk has arrived, and it is heaven in a ball.  Incredibly soft, with the smoothness of Alpaca and some silk sheen.  This is a worsted weight and arrived with a new DB book of patterns, but you could substitute it for another worsted in another basic pattern.

Two new colors of Debbie Bliss Aran Tweed also came in on the same shipment, a white/blue denim tone, and an orchid color, both gorgeous, naturally!

Also, we received many, many new scarf novelties, many wool blends for warmth, from Euro Yarns.  Come in to check them out for scarf gifts, sweater trims, or any other fun projects you have in mind.  I'm working on a couple of new scarves from the new arrivals, so feel free to stop in to check them out or make your own combo!  Some of these would look great in a cooler-weather version of Frida, mix them up with some colorful wools and mohairs for a warm, fuzzy poncho!

I'm posting this from home because of the internet issues, so I will post pictures as soon as possible, but stop in today or Saturday for a look at these new goodies.  Don't forget, our new Saturday hours are 10am to 3pm, starting this week!

Our new newsletter is up and the class page is updated, check them out!

PS- Because of technical difficulties with the website, we have lost all of the posts dating back to early July.  I will be reposting the pics of Willow and Frida over the weekend!
