27 April 05 - 09:46Newsletter/Class Schedule

The new class schedule has been posted, and the Newsletter has been e-mailed, the snail mail edition will go into the mail today.  There are several new classes on May's schedule, including Felting 202, an intermediate felting class.  The project will be a large purse/tote.  The Savannah Tank Class will walk you through the steps to create a basic tank (see previous entry).  And the Mini-Sweater class will give you the basics of sweater knitting on a smaller scale by making a doll-sized drop-shoulder sweater.

Call us at the shop for sign-up!  Remember, many of the new classes are two-part classes, so check your schedule to be sure you can attend both classes BEFORE sign-up.

Another reminder-

We will be closed on Saturday, May 14th.  Mark your calendars!  This is the day of the Buck Creek Festival, and according to customer feedback, the traffic from the event is just too much to deal with for most folks who aren't coming specifically for the festival.  We will re-open at the usual time on Tuesday, May 17th, so if you're scheduled for classes on that day, please plan your supply purchases accordingly.

19 April 05 - 16:58new goodies from Lantern Moon

The tank pattern I was working on for Patagonia is now finished and available at the shop.  Here is the Savannah Tank:

And here is a second colorway:

You can knit the Savannah Tank in any two colors of Patagonia and/or Nature Cotton.  Two similarly toned colors will give a blended effect, while two contrasting colors will give you a striped effect.  This is an EASY pattern, definitely suitable as a first tank patter or a quick knit for experienced knitters.

We received a large shipment from Lantern Moon today with lots of new styles of totes and baskets.  Here's the new Diamond Tote, available in green, blue, and cinnamon.

The Root Basket is gorgeous, lined in iridescent purple silk with bent bamboo handles.

And the Split Handle Bamboo basket has a removable lid and is fully lined in cheerful striped silk tafetta.

And last but not least, the roomy silk-lined Seagrass Tote with a drawstring top:
