25 May 06 - 12:56I'm back!

I'm back in Alabama!  And glad to be back to the shop, although still slightly disoriented.  Come see me at Stitch & Bitch tonight, from 6 to 8:30pm!

16 May 06 - 14:34Chowderhead

Greetings from New England!

Things are sopping wet here, but Chris & I are still finding plenty of things to do.  Today we toured about a half-dozen yarn shops (I bought more sock yarn, how shocking!) and fully immersed ourselves in a fabulous "Yankee" lunch.  We stopped at the Yankee Silversmith Inn, and I had what was quite possibly the best cup of New England clam chowder I've had in my entire life (and I grew up on this stuff, folks).  I am in foodie heaven.  Yesterday was amazing Vietnamese pork & rice, and Chris had the best smelling Ban Pho soup with cinnamon & anise.  Tonight, Mamoon's middle eastern food.  Our rule is no chain restaurants on vacation, and so far, it's brought good results!

Speaking of sock yarn, I just went to Mason Dixon Knitting and saw glamour shots of our sock yarn!  How exciting!  I've been carrying around a pair of ArtYarn's Ultramerino socks-in-progress while we wander (I had to buy a new rain jacket, and it's got wonderfully roomy pockets!).

Sunday we happened upon a Artists' fair in my hometown, and I met a hand dyer and a spinner there.  I picked up some souvenir sweater wool at their booth.  Wool is soooo much better than a souvenir paperwight!

See you all later!

My first published pattern (printed, anyway) in a knitting publication!

The new summer Interweave Knits:

That has my Bonita Shirt pattern:

is here!

Come get your copy today!  I have kits on order for this pattern, but of course, Murphy's law has taken effect, and they're on backorder for a week or two.

Join us at the next Stitch & Bitch, this Thursday, May 11th, from 6 to 8:30pm.  I'll be out of town, but the rest of the gang will be there with snacks, drinks, and knitting.

Don't forget we will be closed this Saturday, May 13th!
